Zimmer Spine has announced the US market launch of Puros demineralised bone matrix block and strip.

Used alone or as a bone graft extender, Puros demineralised bone matrix allografts provide osteoconductive and osteoinductive properties, improved handling and (according to a press release) excellent graft containment in a ready-to-use application. Puros demineralised bone matrix block and strip, provided through a partnership with AlloSource, are flexible and compressible once rehydrated, and are available in a variety of sizes and shapes to reduce transplant preparation time.

“These new Puros demineralised bone matrix products minimize the need for shaping during the surgical procedure, are provided sterile, and have up to a five-year shelf life,” said Steve Healy, president of Zimmer Spine. “Adding these new demineralised bone matrices to our biologics portfolio will provide surgeons with a competitive, off-the-shelf, and convenient allograft at a good value to the hospital.”
