1978

Wenzel Spine has announced the full commercial availability of the VariLift-LX system throughout the USA.

VariLift-LX represents the next generation of Wenzel Spine’s expandable stand-alone interbody fusion devices. The zero-profile VariLift-LX system is designed to provide a broader portfolio of options for surgeons when performing lumbar fusion procedures.

David Lee, who participated in the VariLift-LX system limited release, is president of the Southern Neurologic & Spinal Institute in Hattiesburg, USA. Lee comments, “The LX system provides a significant improvement in implant sizes and instrumentation.” Lee further comments, “The LX system expanded implant sizes make the system attractive for both PLIF and TLIF procedures.”

Available in two lengths and five heights, the VariLift-LX system is intended to allow surgeons to implant a device optimising fit within the disc space. The device is designed to offer streamlined and intuitive instrumentation, for “true” minimally invasive lumbar fusion procedures. Surgeons are able to implant and expand VariLift-LX without disengaging the instrumentation that also allows them to insert autograft material.
