Titan Spine chief medical officer awarded Becker’s Healthcare 2014 Leadership Award

Recently Becker’s Healthcare recognised Paul Slosar as a 2014 Leadership Award winner. Slosar is president of SpineCare Medical Group in Daly City, California, USA and serves as co-director and medical director of the Spine Care Institute of San Francisco as well as chief medical officer of Titan Spine. He is one of 17 spine surgeons, and one of only three from California, honoured with the annual award for leadership, experience and entrepreneurship in the field.

Becker’s Healthcare selected recipients based on leadership position, innovation in the field, entrepreneurial spirit and thought leadership in the industry. Winners were chosen by a panel of editorial team members and leading spine industry experts.

A leading health care trade magazine in the Becker’s Healthcare group of publications, Becker’s Spine Review focuses on the latest trends in business, innovation and technology related to spine surgery. The publication highlights the achievements of individual spine surgeons from across the country and features in-depth expertise from the industry’s most well-respected thought leaders.

“I am honoured to have been selected as one of this year’s Leadership Award winners by Becker’s Healthcare, publisher of Becker’s Spine Review which provides timely, valuable information to the spine industry,” comments Paul Slosar, chief medical officer for Titan Spine. “Spine surgeons across the nation and world continue to advance innovation in the field and it is a testament to this leadership and determination in improving treatments and patient outcomes that this award is given each year.”

Within his practice, Slosar is interested in motion-preservation and implant surface technologies. As such, he has been instrumental in researching and developing Titan Spine’s proprietary surface technology for its line of Endoskeleton interbody fusion devices. Additionally, Slosar has a strong commitment to patient advocacy issues, lobbying for continued patient access to spine treatments and technologies through the Spinal Research Foundation, North American Spine Society, and the International Advocates for Spine Patients.

In addition to his clinical practice and advisory role with Titan Spine, Slosar serves on the board of directors for the American Board of Spine Surgery and The Spinal Research Foundation. He also serves as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and American Board of Spine Surgery. Slosar is a frequent instructor of new technologies and techniques and was selected by the Medical Board of California as an expert reviewer in spine surgery.
