Precision Spine has announced that it has launched its Slimplicity SOLO anterior cervical plate system on to the US market. The company says its system offers one of the slimmest profile plates available in the market, with a locking mechanism designed to be simple and secure while facilitating visual locking confirmation.

The Slimplicity SOLO system is comprised of one and two-level plates and 4.5mm fixed and variable screws, along with a colour-coded instrument set. It is intended for anterior cervical fixation to the cervical spine (C2-C7) for the following indications: degenerative disc disease (as defined by neck pain of discogenic origin with degeneration of the disc confirmed by patient history and radiographic studies), trauma (including fractures), tumours, deformity (defined as kyphosis, lordosis, or scoliosis), pseudarthrosis, failed previous fusion, spondylolisthesis, and spinal stenosis.

“I am impressed with the Slimplicity SOLO product,” W Brenton Faircloth, orthopaedic surgeon at the Mobile Infirmary in Mobile in the USA said. “It requires less dissection of soft tissue in my surgeries, and, for me, it’s ideal for treating one and two-level disease.”
