RIWOspine is expanding its product portfolio to include an innovative segment in the field of minimally invasive spinal surgery. The new evospine product range comprises special implant and instrument solutions for interbody fusion and dorsal stabilisation of the spine, and will be offered in the European market.
The evospine products were developed on the premise that they would be designed for simplification. They aim to provide spine surgeons with the latest minimally invasive solutions and make interbody fusion procedures as straightforward as possible. The products will also enable operations involving complex procedures to be carried out more efficiently, say RIWOspine.
Included in the new product line is the eFuse cage system, whose design allows it to adapt to the anatomy of the vertebral body. The stable mechanism used to expand the implant enables application with very small access points and the distraction of the intervertebral space. This makes it ideal for minimally invasive and endoscopic access, and helps to minimise access trauma, the company states.
Thanks to BAMBOO, a multifunctional, sterile, and disposable instrument set for application of the evospine MIS fixator in dorsal stabilsation contexts, the number of instruments required for this complex surgical procedure is dramatically reduced and application is made much simpler, say RIWOspine.
The firm adds that the disposable system saves the operating team a huge amount of time, as preoperative and postoperative work is significantly reduced and the procedure itself can be carried out more effectively. The implant and instrument solution is delivered in a sterile condition, meaning it can be used straight away and is ideal for unplanned operations.
