K2M is to debut the Balance ACS platform at the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves (AANS/CNS Spine Summit; 8-11 March, Las Vegas, USA).

The system will also be featured at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting (AAOS; 14-18 March, San Diego, USA). The product will be introduced outside of the USA at the British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS; 15-17 March, Manchester, UK) annual meeting.

Balance ACS is a platform intended to apply three-dimensional solutions across the entire clinical care continuum to help drive quality outcomes in spine patients. The system is designed to provide solutions focused on achieving balance of the spine by addressing each anatomical vertebral segment with a 360-degree approach of the axial, coronal and sagittal planes.

During the meetings, K2M will demonstrate the BACS system. The company will also unveil a BACS app, which serves as a portal for surgeons to access the BACS system, including:

  • Preauthorisation: An easy insurance documentation tool that displays payer- and patient-specific requirements
  • Surgical planner: A surgical image measuring technology to assist in planning and preoperative implant selection
  • Anatomical modelling: 3D-printed anatomical models to aid in visualization of patient anatomy for surgical planning and intraoperative use
  • Data management: A data collection and operative reporting system to track patient quality metrics achieved with spinal balance
