In a study presented at SpineWeek 2008, researchers evaluated whether spine surgery was a cost effective option for patients with a workers’ compensation claim. The objective was to evaluate the cost effectiveness of lumbar spine surgery for an intravertebral disc herniation (IDH) relative to non-operative care over a two year period for patients with and without workers’ compensation.
