The World Orthopaedics Innovation Summit & Expo 2017 (WOISE2017), the premier international event for innovations in orthopaedics (spine, joint, foot and ankle) and the high-tech life science industry, will be held in Shanghai, China, 8-9 April 2017.

In 2015, “Precision Medicine Policy” was listed as one of the major parts of China’s 13th Five-Year Plan for health security development research. Personalised diagnosis and treatment, digital and intelligent orthopaedics and minimally invasive surgery have enhanced the development of modern orthopaedics. The Chinese orthopaedic device industry is expanding quickly, offering rapid product development and a wide, relatively unpenetrated consumer market.

WOISE2017 aims to explore, fuel, spark and contribute to the innovations that will shape the future of modern orthopaedics, providing emerging industry information, a modern orthopaedic clinical experience and extensive international cooperation opportunities.

“On behalf of North American Spine Society (NASS), I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the successful launching of WOISE2017,” commented Todd Wetzel, president of NASS.

The theme of WOISE2017 is “Keeping Abreast with Modern Orthopaedic New Therapies & Technology Advancements”. Global hospital representatives and leading orthopaedic surgeons will be invited to share their clinical experiences of advanced surgery in the areas of spine, joint, and foot and ankle.

More than 1000 senior representatives from government, societies, hospital orthopaedic departments, research institutes, orthopaedic device manufacturers, law firms, consulting agencies and investment enterprises will contribute to lively discussions of the new orthopaedic therapies and new developmental opportunities in the era of precision medicine and intelligent orthopaedics. Through the equipment exhibition, medical equipment suppliers will have the opportunity to communicate in an interactive, highly-efficient way with global buyers.

WOISE2017 aims to break through the limitations of traditional orthopaedic teaching and provide a valuable study opportunity for surgeons, young physicians and students. Attendees will come not only from China, but also from Europe, the USA, Africa, and other regions across the globe.
