Medtech has made its first US Rosa Spine sale to Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, USA.

The hospital is a 970-bed medical facility, which received the Healthgrades “America’s 100 Best Hospitals’ Award” in 2016, and has received the Healthgrades “Distinguished Hospital Award—Clinical Excellence” for the past three consecutive years.

“Our hospital previously purchased two Rosa Brain systems in 2015 for our Neuroscience Institute and for training in our Brethen Center for Surgical Advancement in Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery,” says Mark Shaker, president and chief executive officer of Miami Valley Hospital. “We are thrilled to be the first facility in the US to now have Rosa Spine.”

The system was granted USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance in January 2016, and received the CE mark in 2014. Medtech’s Rosa Brain received FDA approval in 2012 and is currently in use in 29 US facilities.
