DFine has announced that the company has been awarded a national group purchasing organisation contract with the Premier healthcare alliance in United States.

The agreement will provide Premier members specially negotiated pricing and terms to DFine’s StabiliT Vertebral Augmentation System, a radiofrequency targeted vertebral augmentation (RF-TVA) used to repair vertebral compression fractures resulting from instability due to osteoporosis or cancer.

According to a company release, DFine is one of only two companies to be awarded a contract to provide a vertebral compression fractures treatment modality to Premier members under their new agreement. The three-year national contract becomes effective on 1 July 2012.

“This is our largest agreement in terms of contract coverage, and we are excited to establish this new partnership with Premier,” said Kevin Mosher, CEO, DFine. “We believe this agreement is a further testament to the clinical performance of StabiliT, which provides physicians greater control in the treatment of vertebral compression fractures through site-and size specific cavity creation, delivery of ultra-high viscosity bone cement with extended working time, and a unique, remotely controlled cement delivery system to minimise the physician’s radiation exposure.”
