ApiFix has agreed an exclusive distribution deal in Spain with Acuna-Fombona, an Iberian distribution company.
ApiFix has developed a minimally invasive, non-fusion spinal implant system for the correction of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
ApiFix is intended to improve the quality of life of patients who undergo scoliosis surgery, save hospitalisation and operating room time, and cost substantially less than standard scoliosis surgery.
The first scoliosis correction surgery was performed in Hospital Universitari Sagrat Cor, Barcelona Hospital, Spain, by Juan Carlos Olaverri.
