3D X-ray system produces “better” image and reduces radiation dose

A recent comparative dosimetric study between computed radiography (CR) for assessment of scoliosis and an alternative approach using a new low-dose system, the ‘EOS’ 3D x-ray orthopaedic imaging system (Biospace Med), has shown that the EOS system produces “better” image quality while using nearly ten times less radiation. The study involved 50 children and adolescents ranging from 11 to 19 years of age.
